We hope you have been enjoying this summer!
As many of you know, PFS has two distinct concert seasons now.
  • The Eastside season continues with mostly national and international artists as it has been the past several years.
  • The Westside season is entering its second full season mostly with regional artists.
Both seasons now have season tickets available. Season tickets are a great value; they are discounted over the single ticket prices.
Opening night of the 2025/2026 PFS concert seasons is in September and we wanted to ensure you have all the info about these upcoming concerts. Please mark your calendars and order your tickets!

PFS Concerts Artists Selection Process
 Most concert attendees do not realize that the PFS Concerts is a curated series. The Artists Selection Process for our PFS Concerts is:
  • Collect Names: Concert Committee members collect the names of artists that we would like to consider for the next season. These names come from audience suggestions, personal experience, and other recommendations. We typically end up with a list of 100 to 200 artists’ names on the list. We welcome your suggestions to this list.
  • Evaluate Artists: Concert Committee members research and listen to each artist on the list. The goals include the quality of the performers on stage, rapport with the audience, and whether they are a fit into our concert series.
  • Vote: In the Fall, we get together and review each list one artist at a time. We use a simple vote system of 0 (no), 1 (possibly), or 2 (yes). Each concert committee member votes and we record the totals.
  • Prioritize: We then sort the list by the vote totals and start working from the top of the list to try booking the artists – either directly, or via their agents.
  • Affordability & Season Fit: One goal of our concert series is to keep it affordable, so artists requiring too high a guarantee may not get booked. Also, we try to have a nice mix of genres and diversity among the artists.
  • Booking Artists: Once we get artists booked, we then complete the contract paperwork. When all our available open concert slots are booked, we are done!
A goal of the selection process is to bring to our Portland stages excellent artists, including some that many of our members may not have heard of before! Thus our audience members expand their repertoire of artists and the artists create new fans.
