Elixir (Eastern US)
Elixir blends driving fiddle and guitar with the rich texture and rhythmic excitement of a full horn section, deftly weaving brassy riffs and daring solos in and out of traditional Irish, French Canadian and New England tunes. Elixir’s repertoire includes contra, English, swing, waltz, couples dance, and concert music.
The Retrospectacles (Originally from Olympia WA )
The Retrospectacles are a young group of contra dance musicians whose natural enthusiasm and powerful playing have torn up dance floors all over the Northwest. Drawing from their childhoods growing up at music camps and festivals, and their early immersions in contra dancing and music.
Nils Fredland (Keene NH)
Nils Fredland has been making music, leading dances, and bringing people together for twenty years as a teacher; singer and song leader; trombonist; contra, square, and community dance caller; story teller; and workshop leader. He shares his infectious energy with dancers and singers of all ages and levels of ability, coast to coast and beyond, nearly every weekend.
Susie Kendig (Portland OR)
Susie’s calling is clear, her teaching succinct and accurate, and her manner friendly. She chooses dances that are interesting, smooth-flowing and fun; and her characteristic cheerful aplomb brings delight during the dance.

Karen Savoka and Pete Heitzman are bringing their soulful, funky music to Summit on Saturday.
Savoca puts her heart into a song the way a great actor throws herself into a role, charming audiences with a supple alto and a boundless range of expression. A gifted songwriter, she draws you into her world of humor and compassion, telling stories with grace and ease, as though you’ve been invited to her table for supper.
“A true virtuoso of groove, Heitzman has a sly touch that, combined with Savoca’s in-the-pocket drumming and spectacularly soulful vocals, gives the duo the impact of a four-piece band.” -Acoustic Guitar Magazine
“Electrifying, unique and always uplifting, these improvisational performers have the fearlessness of a high wire act working without a net.” -Six String, Columbus, OH
