For the Love of Singing – a class with Tom Demarest
Benton Center Community Ed. offers non-credit, “just for fun & interest” classes for everyone. This Fall Term, on Tuesday September 30th @ the Troubadour Music Center, “For the Love of Singing” will debut. It will focus on the popular music of the late 1950s, the ’60s & into the ’70s. After the first week our repertoire will develop according to the tastes & preferences of the class. The instructor (yours truly) can play & will try to sing almost anything from that era, provided others try to sing along! So if you love to sing, harmonize, and enjoy singing with others, this class is for you!
There are several options to sign up; stop by The Benton Center or call (541-757-8944); check the catalogue that was mailed to you; or click on this link. https://sis.linnbenton.edu/sis/prod/lbw_sched.P_DrawCRNDetail?v_CRN=25473&v_Term=201402&v_Role=

CircleSinging with Barbara Ford
Popularized and taught by singer Bobby McFerrin, CircleSinging is vocal improvisation, a “drum circle” for singers. It is a “mistake-‐free” zone for all levels of singers.
Barbara trained with Bobby McFerrin to lead CircleSinging. She leads groups in fun, poly-‐rhythmic, resonant, and harmonic wordless song that can move, amuse, inspire, and strengthen community. This intergenerational experience is free and open to all and embodies the elements of Active Hope: community, creativity, gratitude and joy.
