Board Meetings

Board Meetings

The CFS Board meets regularly to conduct organizational business and to address the needs of its members. All members are encouraged to come and anyone may address the board by contacting the board president, ahead of time if possible, and submitting a brief description of the issue to be addressed.
Currently, the board meets on Zoom once a month for an hour, usually Sunday afternoon. Please check the calendar on www.corvallisfolklore.org for specifics. Previous meetings’ minutes are archived here. Click on “About CFS” tab at the top of the homepage and select “Board Meetings”.

The next board meeting: see event details for Zoom link and information

The CFS annual membership meeting is held each spring (end of May or beginning of June). All members are encouraged to come. Currently, we hold this meeting before the regular first Saturday contra dance in June. A social get-together and music jam start in late afternoon. A potluck supper is served during the meeting at about 6pm. Everything wraps up before the contra dance at 7pm. Everything takes place in Gatton Hall of the First Congregational Church.
The essential business of the annual meeting is to report to CFS members and elect a board for the new year. The meeting consists of:

  • Officer reports, including treasurer & membership coordinator
  • Reports from activity groups
  • Open Q & A: member questions, comments, issues
  • Additional board candidates may be nominated
  • A slate of board candidates is presented, including nominations from the floor
