Singing with Suz
Fun Raiser
The “Singing with Suz” duo of John Swanson and Suzannah Doyle will be joined by “The Wallop Sisters,” with Suz & Jeanne Holmes on Ukes, Niels Nielson on bass, and Karen Sikich on guitar. You’ve gotta hear ’em to believe ’em.
Alice Di Micele
Alice Di Micele is an Americana/Folk Singer-Songwriter based in Southern Oregon. Her voice is rangy, sometimes soft and intimate, other times bold and brassy, evoking a distinct mood in every song she sings. Alice built a dedicated fan base as an independent musician with stirring live performances spanning a three-decade career. Her new album, Every Seed We Plant, is her sixteenth release, a snapshot of life in these times – gut-wrenching, hopeful, vulnerable, intense. Alice collaborated with producer Bret Levick, who co-produced, arranged, and co-wrote the first track on her new release, leading Alice’s music into new territory. Pop, jazz, and rock and roll undercurrents flow beneath folk bedrock on this record. Joining Alice for this performance will be Rob Kohler on bass, Andy Casad on guitar, and Jeanette Hardison on backing vocals.

Alan Snyder/Carl Thor
Alan Snyder (fiddle) and Carl Thor (piano) started playing together when dances resumed after the Covid shutdowns, but they both have a long history in the contra dance world. Alan is well known throughout the region for his work as lead fiddle with The Euphemists and The Wisenheimers. Carl played for over 15 years with Cascade Crossing and Hands4, and currently plays with Bandwidth and The Portland Megaband. Together, they’ll get your bones shaking and your feet moving!
Laurel Thomas
Laurel Thomas started calling contra dances at Portland’s open mike night in 2008. Since then, she has called for the regular dances in Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, Bend, Vancouver, Olympia and Tacoma. She has also called at Salem’s Camp Westwind. Dancers appreciate her clear teaching, articulate calling and her ability to choose fun, lively dances that have good flow. “In a mixed crowd my goal for the evening is not only to call dances that are accessible to beginners yet still fun for more experienced dancers, but also to make sure that there is an element of challenge built into the program that allows newcomers to increase their skills.”

Hard Drive
Hard Drive is a hard-driving aural modern traditional old time authentic millennial bluegrass collective made up of Tatiana Hargreaves, Aaron Tacke, Sonya Badigian, and Nokosee Fields. From brother duets to raging fiddle tunes, Hard Drive brings a sense of deep intuition and silliness to the world that encompasses old-time, country, and bluegrass.
The Bluegrass Situation describes the band as “a delightful subversion of our expectations of what traditional bluegrass is supposed to be.”
Hard Drive serves up a “high-octane bluegrass-old-time style, delivered with deep intuitive insight, manic exploratory zeal and seriously powerhouse instrumental (and vocal) chops but also, importantly, with an abundant and overwhelming sense of fun.” [Folk Radio UK].
They float gently around a Bermuda-Triangle-type spacetime warp in central North Carolina, and they are constantly expanding at the approximate pace of the universe.
